Janice May, PsyD, LP
Originally from Oklahoma, Dr. May began her practice in 2005 and is licensed in the State of Missouri as a Psychologist. Her areas of special interest include mood disorders (such as depression and anxiety), identity formation (GLBT), relationship issues and adult trauma survivors. She is also experienced in conducting psychosocial and cognitive assessments.
Dr. May’s professional experience includes inpatient psychiatric hospital and outpatient psychological treatment, group services for inpatient substance abuse treatment, psychoeducational services and psychological testing. For the past 7 years, she has worked in private practice in Mansfield, Missouri, conducting psychological, vocational, and intellectual assessments. She has also provided psychotherapy for individuals and couples on a wide range of life issues and mental disorders. In addition, she has provided seminars and educational presentations to health care professionals, community organizations, businesses, and private institutions on various mental health topics. In January 2017, Dr. May relocated her office from Mansfield to Rogersville, MO.
Dr. May received a bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminology from the University of Oklahoma and master’s and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in Springfield, Missouri. She completed a 1-year pre-doctoral internship training and 1-year post-doctoral resident year with Royal Oaks Hospital – inpatient psychiatric facility in Windsor, Missouri under the supervision of Dr. C.J. Davis. Dr. May is a member of the American Psychological Association and Missouri Psychological Association.
